A working meeting was held in Moscow between Serge Phocas Odunlami, President of the ANO "House of Africa," and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Burundi and a representative of one of Russia's largest vegetable oil producers.
During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for developing trade and economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Burundi, including in the agro-industrial complex and agricultural processing. Particular attention was paid to the potential for exporting Russian vegetable oils, as well as implementing joint investment and infrastructure projects in Burundi.
The President of the ANO "House of Africa" noted the importance of building direct partnerships between Russian businesses and African countries, emphasizing the organization's role as a platform for dialogue, project support, and investment attraction.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Burundi expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Russian companies, particularly in the supply of high-quality food products, as well as in localizing processing and creating jobs in the country.
A representative of the Russian company confirmed its willingness to consider Burundi as a promising area for long-term partnership, including potential product supplies, technology transfer, and the development of joint production facilities.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue consultations and prepare specific proposals for the implementation of joint projects.
